Habita Hotel

The habita hotel, part of a new generation of establishment in which the priority contemporerary design. Leaves all convention behind, this is reflected not only in the operation, service and technical sophistication, but in the design and construction as well.

The challenge of transforming this old 1960 apartment building and retain, at least partially, its structure and incorporate new aloments, was due to legal issues revolving around renovations versus new constructions.

The building was adapated to the various characteristic of the urban surroundings as well as to the necessties of the hotel. So the glass faqade, which creates a new, weighties image of the building that changes according to the intensity of the light is also a protective element like a barrier that blocks out the intense noise and congestion of the central part of the city in the interior hotel were out in the structure in order to widen the elevator and other vertical ahats, finally after careful planning, 36 rooms were accommodated where there had once been three apartments per floor.This planning resulted in an architectural structure that masterfully combines lights and shadows, angular and imagular perspective with diverse materials such as stainless steel, glass, Canadian maple, and blue Mexican agave
